Oh this wedding!! I can’t tell you enough how special this weekend was. Jake and Lauren are easily one of my all time favorite couples. They flew us out to El Dorado Hills and included us in all their wedding festivities. We were guests at their wedding reception and we were instantly treated like one of the gang. These two are the coolest people so naturally they have the coolest jobs. Lauren is a mental health conditioning coach for the New York Yankees and you only have to spend a few minutes with her to feel completely inspired and motivated. Jake is a professional golfer so it was fitting that these two tied-the-knot on a course that he grew up playing on.
What I love most about Jake and Lauren is how incredibly intentional they are with their family and friends. They both take their time to check in on their guests and they were so attentive with each person through conversation one-on-one conversation. Even as a vendor, I was able to sit down and have great discussions with both of them individually and as a couple. I’m a little desensitized to speeches after photographing close to 200 weddings, but these two are so genuine with their words that I actually cried during the toasts.
On their wedding day, we had the best timeline and during our downtime, these two actually hung out with their friends. It’s hard to believe, but that is actually pretty rare! They played drinking games, took selfies, enjoyed meals together, and they had a super fun/stress free day. Often times, wedding days can be rushed with jam packed/overlapping schedules. I always think it’s important to trust the professionals when it comes to creating the timeline. Make sure there is wiggle room between your events so if things fall behind, you won’t be stressed and if you’re ahead of schedule, you can use that time to be more present with your guests!
